Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the kids at work on the projects they made for our Teens & Tweens book.
You can see how much fun they had discovering new ways to be creative.
You can find pictures of the finished projects, plus many other cool ideas, on our Studio Classes workshop page.
Use this book to teach a young person to sew, or schedule a class together.

Brandon and Dakota show off the
Friendship cards they made.
We had fun recycling our old
jeans. One of the easiest
projects was turning a back
pocket into a holder for our
sunglasses, music player, or
cell phone.
Brandon added a D-ring to
clip onto his backpack.
Amber added crystals for
some bling!
Amber used the rotary cutter to
cut the pieces for her Easy Sew
Poncho.
She stitched it up quick on the
sewing machine.
And then she got silly when she
modeled it.
Blake found several fun places to
pick up his impressions with
crayons.
He used the iron to heat set the
color and then had a little help
from Elisa at the sewing machine.
Everybody had fun choosing
fabrics to make quilted
Christmas ornaments.
We stitched with floss and
added buttons and beads.
It's sweet to decorate the
tree with things we made
ourselves.
We stitched some of our projects
by hand, others with the sewing
machine, and with our longarm
quilting machine.
Working with a friend is always fun
and we love sharing our passion
for quilting with others.
Amber and Brandon worked on
applique quilts.
First we used fusible web to attach
the hearts and stars.
Amber appliqued hers with a blanket
stitch on the Bernina.
Brandon did a straight stitch with the
longarm.
Everyone got to try their hand at
free motion quilting on our Mosaic
Applique quilt.
A group quilt can hold a lot of
memories of a day together with
friends and family.
Amber learned a new
technique for piecing circles
into background squares.
Then, we had a little role-
reversal when she got to
teach her mom (Jen) how to
do it!
The kids learned several differnt
ways to do bindings. Here are
Amber and Seayra having a
giggle-moment while they work.
She planned the layout of her
quilt on the flannel design wall,
pieced it on the Bernina, and
quilted it with the Statler
Stitcher.
Don't you just love to listen
to music while you work?
Amber stitched a cover for
her bedside table.
The top is quilted and she
used a large ruching
pattern to add fullness
and a petal edge to the
skirt.
Choose a fabric that
matches your quilt or
looks good in your room
and make your own table
skirt. Sweet!
